Dear EMTH118 students,
I hope you are well and safe at this difficult time.
Please contact me at phillipa.williams@canterbury.ac.nz if you need anything or have any questions. We are currently working on the post-earthquake plan for EMTH118, and we will update you as soon as we can with the details. The course information for EMTH118 is now out-of-date, and we will provide an updated version as soon as details are available.
We will now be using Learn for all our course materials and news. If you cannot log in to Learn, please contact the ICT Service Desk on (03) 364-2060, or email  ictservicedesk@canterbury.ac.nz. The current post-earthquake Service Desk phone hours are 9am-4pm Monday - Friday.  (Note that the lines can get busy, but keep trying and you will get through.)
In Learn, we have posted full lecture notes for the first two topics, Linear Algebra and Vector Geometry. The textbook reference for the first topic is Chapter 1 of Linear Algebra by Anton, which is posted under Textbook Readings. You can use this material to help you prepare for the return to study.

Course Information
An introductory course in calculus and linear algebra that is designed primarily for students who have done well in NCEA Mathematics with Calculus. This course deals with basic ideas in calculus and linear algebra which have applications in many areas of Engineering.
