MATH402-12S2 (C)
Dynamical Systems 2
This is a semester two course.
Course Information
The course will cover the applications of dynamical systems to mechanics. In particular it will give an introduction to the mathematical theory of Lagrangian and Hamiltonian dynamics.
It will show how chaos can occur in certain dynamical systems. It will be based on the book by: V.I. Arnold: Mathematical methods of classical mechanics, 1989, Springer-Verlag.
Please note: Math401 is NOT a prerequisite for this course.
