MATH442-12S2 (C)
Special Topic in Mathematics - Viscous Fluid Dynamics
This is a semester two course.
Course Information
Special Topic for 2012 - Viscous Fluid Dynamics
This course is intended as a continuation of Inviscid Fluid Dynamics (MATH444-12S1) although is not set as a prerequisite.
In the course we will give a quick review of the conservation equations and derive constitutive relations for Newtonian and generalized Newtonian fluids. Afterwards we will concentrate on examples of flows at low Reynolds numbers, for example highly viscous flows, porous media flows, thins films and lubrication theory to name some.
