NZMRI summer meetings

The NZMRI (New Zealand Mathematics Research Institute) was established by Vaughan Jones and others with the aim of promoting mathematical research in New Zealand. Since 1994 the main focus of the NZMRI's activity has been the organisation of an annual series of summer meetings on particular topics of contemporary significance in mathematics. The meetings have a pleasant and informal atmosphere.

Meeting details

NZMRI2011 will feature outstanding researchers spanning the breadth of modern dynamics, from large-scale computations in biological applications, through modern theory of smooth systems to ergodic theory. Each lecturer will have a half-day to deliver a series of expository lectures aimed at a general mathematical audience. Most afternoons will be kept free to allow delegates to interact, and enjoy the relaxing surroundings.
The meeting venue is the small seaside town of Raglan. Raglan is located on the beautiful west coat of the North Island of New Zealand, approximately 160km South of Auckland.

Arrival: in time for lunch on Sunday, 9 January 2011.
Departure: after lunch on Friday, 14 January 2011.
(Optional) Bus transportation from Auckland to Raglan will be available to delegates.

Participation

All New Zealand based mathematicians and graduate students are welcome.
Some travel support for NZ graduate students will be provided, and a subsidy is available for student members of the Australian Mathematical Society. Further information is posted on the Costs tab.

International delegates are also welcome, but overall numbers will be capped due to venue constraints.

A small number of speaking slots may be available for short contributed talks.
