Statistical Methods Workshop

The Biomathematics Research Centre at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and the University of Naples Federico II are inviting you to participate in a 3 day workshop on Statistical Methods for Environmental Management.

In the workshop we will discuss how to design surveys and collect data for environmental studies and how to analyse such data.We will look at environmental management for land, water and air quality.

The workshop will focus on statistical survey designs, methods for analysis of environmental data, and analysis to detect trends and change from long term monitoring programmes where data is collected over time.

Invited Participants

The workshop will be most beneficial to those actively working in environmental management and those responsible for design, data storage, analysis and reporting. You need not have any previous statistical training.

Workshop Presenters

Bryan Manly, West Inc, is the author of seven applied statistics books and has special interest in applied statistics.

Jennifer Brown, University of Canterbury, is an ecological statistician, the author of many papers on environmental statistics, and is actively involved in several environmental monitoring programmes.

Marco Reale,University of Canterbury, is a statistician interested in the theory and application of time series analysis.

Marcella Corduas, University of Naples, is a statistician with special interest in time series analysis and has been involved in several national research projects involving time series modelling and seasonal adjustment.
