From PSL:
The Library has recently acquired a subscription to MathSciNet, a Web database incorporating Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications. This replaces our WebSpirs CD-ROM version of MathSci and is a completely new interface. You can access MathSciNet through the Library's Home Page under DATABASES.
Every mathematician should be thoroughly familiar with MathSciNet as it is the best database available for mathematics research requiring a literature survey. It provides access by author, title, review text, journal, institution, reviewer, MR number and subject. It also allows TeX searching.
Telecommunications
To use the telecommunication system to make off-campus calls from the Graduate student office phones, just follow the instructions in the internal telephone directory. The charges are 4 cents a minute for local calls, and around 25 cents a minute for toll calls to the main centers in New Zealand. The charges to smaller centers may be higher.
Computer Accounts
The lines of credit loaded on the computer accounts are for this semester only. A new line of credit will be loaded next semester.
Note that if the "real money" in your computer account is low you will be restricted in your printing to the number of pages that this balance represents. If your balance goes negative during the day printing will be refused until that printing is charged against your department credit at midnight.
We have requested that ITS modify their accounting system so that the balance in your Department credit also shows up in your accounting history file on your ITS account. Note that this history may be accessed by typing "telnet cantva" and then after logging in, typing "history" at the prompt and following directions.
