Starting an engineering degree

A guide for recent school leavers who will be taking mathematics courses as part of an engineering degree.

Do you have 24 credits in NCEA Level 3 Maths with Calculus, with Excellence in most standards?	YES →	Contact the Department of Mathematics and Statistics to discuss direct entry into EMTH 119.
NO ↓
Do you have at least 18 credits in NCEA Level 3 Maths with Calculus, including differentiation and integration?	YES →	Suggested course: EMTH 118.
NO ↓
Do you have some credits in NCEA Level 3 Maths with Calculus or Level 3 Statistics and Modelling?	YES →	Suggested course: MATH 101.
NO ↓
Do you have at least 16 credits in NCEA Level 2 Mathematics, including calculus?	YES →	Suggested course: MATH 101.
NO ↓
If you do not meet the equivalent of any of the above conditions consider an appropriate Bridging Programme or achieving the recommended NCEA credits outlined above.
