Holidays - Great places to stay
In Australia we had wonderful holidays staying at Lyebird's Outlook at Springbrook. Springbrook is inland from the Gold Coast and a good location - close to the beach and being in the rainforest alot cooler, with lots of walks to do near by.
We also have had very relaxing holidays at Byron Bay staying at Dhyana Sands at Norfolk Beach - just south of Byron Bay. Byron Bay is in northern NSW, Australia, and has some wonderful beaches, and again, lots of good walking opportunities plus great cafes. Other good place to stay at Byron Bay close to Clarkes Beach is James Cook Apartments and Solaris, both rented through Elders Real Estate. Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast has become another favourite place - great beach for children. We stay at Capeview Apartments at Kings Beach.
A good place to stay for a few nights in Brisbane that is walking distance to the South Bank is Kangaroo Point Apartments. A good, cheap and reliable rental car agency is UDrive Rentals.
Caroline, Timothy and I have had some great camping weekends around Christchurch, staying at Okains Bay and Ashley Gorge. A good index of campgrounds in New Zealand is the New Zealand Camping Guide. We have had a few trips away in the tent tramping, but with a young child, the commercial campgrounds are a handy option!
